Dental Composite is a Cosmetic resin filling material. This white adhesive synthetic nonsoluble aesthetic
relatively inexpensive /affordable cosmetic restorative filling
material. Cosmetic composite
resin materials may be placed either indirectly or directly into the tooth
immediately after preparation of the tooth and removing any decay, weakened enamel and infected dentin. The cosmetic
composite restoration may then be bonded to the tooth, contoured , sculpted, shaped and
polished. This type of direct composite filling may be completed most often at the same appoinment. This filling tehnique is
referred to a the direct composite technique. Cosmetic composite resin fillings may also be completed in a
2 step technique known as indirect method. The patient may be
treated initially to clean the tooth of all decay, weaken tooth enamel, dentin
or cementum and the remaining tooth or and preparation is prepared for an
impression and an impression is fabricated for purposes of making a laboratory
model, allowing the composite resin restoration to be fabricated outside the
patients mouth in a more controlled environment, free of saliva and other oral contaminants and where the shape, contours and
curing process may be more carefully controlled. When the composite resin filling has been completed in the
laboratory it is then tried and fitted to the patients tooth and bonded
permanently to finish and complete the cosmetic dental restoration.

Dr Ardizzone has provided cosmetic dentistry, comprehensive rehabilitations and restorative treatment, orthopedic, and orthodontic care for more than 20 years. Dr. Ardizzone graduated from Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Virginia (1977). His mother, native to Bremerton, Washington, allowed him to spend many summers and winters visiting family in Washington state while growing up. He fell in love with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and chose to moved to the Puget Sound area the following year to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. In 1982, Dr Ardizzone moved to the University District to attend Dental School at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry, Seattle, Washington.
While attending the University of Washington, Dr Ardizzone was selected to attend the oral surgery residency program at the University of Leeds, Leeds Dental Institute, Leeds England. It was during his oral surgical residency that a passion for dental surgery was ignited. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Washington, School of Dentistry(1987).
As a charter member, Dr Ardizzone joined the Puget Sound Gnathologic Study Club(1988), an Olin Loomis Study Club. Through the meticulous direction and training of Dr. Olin Loomis, he learned comprehensive dentistry, oral rehabilitation, gnathologic concepts and bioesthetics. Dr Ardizzone became a member of the International Academy of Gnathology(1988).
Dr Ardizzone was able to continue his dental education through this academy and broaden his knowledge in the area of functional and biological occlusion, natural esthetics and temporal mandibular joint therapy. Dr Loomis incouraged Dr Ardizzone to gain valuable skills in the area of Gnathologic Orthopedics, Interceptive orthopedics, Orthopedic jaw development and orthodontics.
Dr Ardizzone joined the Seattle Orthopedic Gnathologic Seminar (1989), a group that meets with the Northwest Orthopedic Gnathologic Seminar group monthly to further his knowledge and training in the areas of orthopedics and orthodontics. Dr Ardizzone became a member of the American Academy of Gnathologic Orthopedics (1991).
It was through these professional groups and the excellant professionals associated with them, that has allowed Dr Ardizzone has been able to gain valuable continuing education in comprehensive dentistry, cosmetic and advance his technical skills in dentistry.
I am deeply appreciative of the many kind years of dental training and guidance I received by Dr Olin Loomis DMD, his endless hours of guidance and training in the area of oral rehabilitation, and comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry. He was an exceptional dentist and friend.
